How We Work
The Practice
ThinkThorne is a consulting practice for situations where complexity is high, decisions carry weight and established approaches are no longer providing the clarity needed.
We begin by asking questions, listening carefully and identifying the patterns beneath competing information, perspectives and pressures. We bring together disciplined analysis, strategic insight, lived experience and intuitive intelligence to understand what is happening and what requires attention.
Many complex problems are not caused by a lack of effort or expertise. They arise when existing structures and ways of working no longer fit what an organization or system needs.
Our role is to help identify that gap and determine what needs to change.
The Process
Synvergent thinking integrates creativity, innovation and analytical rigour with intuitive intelligence. Combined with evidence and disciplined analysis, it helps us see patterns others may miss and bring different forms of knowledge together to develop a more complete understanding.
We also use AI where it strengthens the work. AI can expand research, analysis and exploration, but greater access to information does not necessarily create greater clarity. Human context, discernment and judgement remain essential. AI expands what can be explored; human intelligence determines what matters, what it means in context and what to do with it.
The Pace
We have deliberately chosen not to build a practice around volume, scale or visibility. We work through direct relationships and choose engagements carefully.
The right fit requires mutual respect, shared responsibility and a clear understanding of what needs to be accomplished. Our goal is not to create dependence on an outside consultant, but to leave clients with greater clarity, stronger structures and the ability to move forward with confidence.

ThinkThorne is led by Candace Thorne, a strategist and advisor with more than 25 years of experience across health systems, governments, Indigenous organizations and complex organizational environments.
Her work is grounded in strategic analysis, governance expertise and intuitive intelligence.
She is a strategist and advisor known for bringing clarity to complex environments. She has an ability to absorb large volumes of information, recognize patterns and connections that others may miss, and identify what matters most.
She asks questions that draw out knowledge and perspectives that have not been clearly expressed, then brings that information together in a way that helps leaders understand the situation and make informed decisions.
Her approach combines strategic analysis, governance expertise and intuitive intelligence. This allows her to work beyond the obvious or immediate problem and consider the relationships, structures and underlying dynamics that may be influencing what is happening.
As a citizen of the Métis Nation, Candace brings both professional and lived experience to her work with Indigenous organizations, communities and health systems. Her approach is distinctions-based, recognizing First Nations, Inuit and Métis as distinct Peoples with their own histories, governance, priorities and relationships.
Her experience spans health systems, government, Indigenous organizations and community environments across Western and Northern Canada.
